Mental Health in Pictures — A Journey of Art and Healing
For years, I silenced my own creativity. What I thought was self-control was, in truth, self-suppression — and it took a devastating toll on my wellbeing. Eventually, that silence broke into a full mental health crisis, forcing me to confront the parts of myself I had hidden away.
From that reckoning, art returned to me.
Mental Health in Pictures is the result of that rediscovery. The book takes readers on a guided tour through my first solo exhibition, featuring over 30 pieces of artwork alongside personal narratives and poetry. Each piece reflects the shifting states of the mind — from shadowed moments of illness to fragile sparks of hope.
This collection is not just about showcasing art, but about opening a conversation. It’s an invitation to see, feel, and reflect on the complexities of mental health. Some works are raw, others tender, but all come from a place of truth — an honest attempt to make the invisible visible.
Whether you live with mental illness, love someone who does, or are simply curious about how creativity can heal, Mental Health in Pictures offers a thought-provoking and deeply personal journey into the intersections of art and wellbeing.
